Bronze Head Sculpture Of The Goddess Parvati Circa Late 19th Century
This is a wonderful looking representation of the Hindu Goddess Parvati also known as Gauri who was the consort of the God Shiva. She is the symbol of fertility, marital felicity and devotion. This example dates from the late 19th early 20th century and was probably sculptured in Southern India. The piece is in great condition for its age displaying some old and minor repairs to the top of the head. A great decorative item.
